From the start, Marlene Halliwell's middle name was trouble with a capitol T.

With an angelic smile and her father's ability to schmooze, she bounced between being the perfect little girl her mother always wanted and a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. Dance, piano lessons, and playing dress up took a backseat as she entered her teens and began to rebel, something compounded by her mother's suicide when she was just 15.

The fact that she managed to graduate high school was nothing short of a miracle and while most parents would have been happy their child pursued higher education after a rebellious start, Grayson Halliwell was verbally disappointed his daughter chose to flex her creativity by way of a career in design rather than a future taking over the family medical practice.

Leaving trips to the police station requiring her father's connections to skip out on punishment behind her, Marly switched slumming around with the wrong crowd for parties and new adventures throughout college. Wracking

up stamps in her passport and thousands of frequent flyer miles, she took in each new city she visited as potential inspiration for projects to come. After meeting Doug in 2008, the pair joined together to create a contracting and design business that took off with a running start. Aside from her business venture with Doug, Marly coupled with Interior Motives doing freelance work that kept her busy enough to (mostly) stay out of trouble.

Her thriving public life covered up a private life spiraling out of control. Underneath her aspirations of being successful (a loaded word she still isn't sure she's managed to embody fully) late nights of drinking until she blacked out, experimenting with illicit substances, and hooking up with males and females alike caught up with her in the spring of 2013.

Still dealing with the death of her mother and grandfather, a rocky relationship with her father, and feeling unfulfilled in almost every area of her life left her at rock bottom staring up for a speck of light.

The results of a single test smacked her in the face with reality, pushing her to make a choice between being destructive or the talented young woman she could potentially be. Clawing her way back out with the help of a group of saviors and a handle on her drinking, Marly's closing 2013 on the highest note of her life.

2014 brings an exciting career change, a love life filled with potential adventures, a peapod coming in the fall, strengthening relationships, and question marks she's not eager to unravel just yet.

GOT HER LOVE OF DESIGN... From a mother who decorated the house for every holiday and season. Doug's enthusiasm for repurposing in their projects brought on her own interest in DIY which has become an obsession and (hopefully) a career.
HAS PLAYED PIANO... From a young age, though never mastered reading sheet music and can only play by ear - surprisingly well at that.
ATTRIBUTES MOST OF HER SUCCESS... To her Grandfather, Oswin, who was a successful plastic surgeon and instructor. His thriving practice, technique, and ability to invest left Marly with a knack for the same and financial support to continue a lifestyle she's never fully earned. Oswin was a brilliant man who she looked up to in every area of his life and a loss that hit her hard.
Officially diagnosed with parasomnia at 9... She's had varying degrees of night terrors, talking in her sleep, and sleepwalking spells since age 8. Being over-tired, not tired enough, anxiety and stress, diet, and other factors play into attacks but no one mishap can be pinpointed as a culprit. Family and close friends know about the disorder, but it's not something she talks about frequently.
HER FATHER IS FOUNDER OF A.... "Rejuvenation Clinic" that specializes in weight management and cosmetic surgeries, such as: laser treatments, botox, hair reduction, tattoo removal, skin resurfacing, and other procedures popular with women in their late 20s and up. The clinic opened up in 2005 after he'd spent nearly 25 years in family practice.
IS INTERESTED IN... Astrology, horoscopes, reading tarot cards, and palm reading. She's a believer in karma and the supernatural, especially the existence of ghosts and angels.
CURRENTLY REDISCOVERING HER FAITH... After a period of questioning. Raised Catholic, there was a time she attended Mass every Sunday though that devotion has dwindled to attending service just three times a year.

Grayson Halliwell, M.D. Father, 60. Former family practitioner; currently owns and runs - a profitable and flourishing - Rose Hill Rejuvenation, which specializes in cutting edge laser treatments and dietary programs. Their relationship has always been strained, though most hate has been replaced with indifference in recent years. Grayson is an impossibly hard man to please with an obsessive age complex. He's extremely physically active, covets his appearance more than any woman, expects perfection from those around him, and dates women barely older than his daughter. Spending money has always been his alternative to affection.	Odette Halliwell. Grandmother, 78. A lady who lunches throughout her whole life, she spent the duration of her married life creating a home and peacocking her husband's image. Raised with old money, Odette was groomed to spend her life on committees with other women afflicted by rich, white guilt. Nothing more than a gossip with her hand in every cookie jar, she means well even if those intentions aren't exactly up to par with the saintly Catholic persona she likes to project. Her relationship Marly has wavered over the years, from close to not speaking, with their relationship taking a turn for the better in late 2013. Odette can be overbearing, constantly poking her nose in where it doesn't belong - specifically when it came to setting her granddaughter up on blind dates with the grandsons of her friends.	AJ Hogan. Boyfriend/Baby Daddy. They met in high school and went to prom together senior year, but lost touch shortly after when life pulled them in different directions. Re-connecting in the summer of '13 they started dating briefly after, moving in together in the fall, and are expecting a child together in September '14. Things can be rocky when a roadblock comes into view, but Marly's got tunnel vision when it comes to their future together - she considers him her other half. AJ's the rock she never knew she wanted or needed. He's helping her kick start a new business and she's trying, albeit slowly, to understand baseball.

Tinka Chapin. Best Friend/Roommate. After meeting randomly in the summer of '13 the two quickly became inseparable friends. Tinka is the sister she always wanted and the kind of confidant who knows all of her secrets. In September they purchased a home together in Boulder Heights. Tinka is her kinder, smarter, more level headed ride-or-die twin. They do everything together, from pole dancing classes to invading Target, and Marly would be lost without her.	Brian Davoren Though they bonded over their lack of souls, Marly has come to find how often he sells himself short when it comes to being human. At one point in time they were extremely close, but that has been crumpled up into a ball and they're trying to smooth out the wrinkles.	Matt Shawcross Set up by their grandmothers - who met in their church knitting group while Odette lived in New York - their blind date spawned nothing romantic but a close friendship instead. Matt is a real-life prince and all around good guy with a Buddha heart.

MUSIC... Britney Spears, One Direction, Girl Talk, Taylor Swift, Country-Pop (Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan), Beyonce, Rihanna, Old School Boybands, Maroon 5, Katy Perry, Adele, Jay-Z. If it has a good beat, there's a good chance she loves it.
MOVIES... Anything spooky that'll keep you up at night, Black Comedies, some Romantic Comedies, and Sci-Fi.
TELEVISION... The Golden Girls, Trashy Reality TV - ie: Maury and Jerry Springer, everything on TLC - especially Honey Boo Boo, Orange is The New Black, Hemlock Grove, Cartoon-ish shows - ie: Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, Ugly Americans. Usually only sitcoms in syndication - waiting for new episodes drives her crazy.
FOODS... Sushi, Mexican, Italian, Thai, Chinese, Junk Food, Healthy Food, Crazy Pinterest finds - she's anything but a picky eater and will try almost everything once.
ACTIVITIES... Picking up new hobbies, re-purposing items from flea markets and garage sales, yoga, running, knitting, gardening, building ambiance, party planning, matchmaking, creating "spaces" for others, dancing.
